Biography

Dr. Peter Eveland is the Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Admissions at CalMed. He has a faculty appointment at the rank of Professor in the Department of Family Medicine. Before joining CalMed, he served as the founding Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Admissions at Roseman University College of Medicine, founding Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Admissions at California Northstate University College of Medicine; Associate Dean for Student Affairs at the University of Washington School of Medicine; founding member of the faculty and Associate Dean for Admissions, Student Affairs, and Outreach for the Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee, FL, and tenured professor of psychiatry and community medicine and Associate Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs for Mercer University School of Medicine. Dr. Eveland has been licensed as a Professional Mental Health Counselor and Social Worker. He served as the Vice-Chair of the Group on Student Affairs (GSA) for the Association of American Medical Colleges Southern Region’s 48 schools of medicine. Dr. Eveland has had a consistent track record of building programs that support student success, reduce attrition rates, improve student academic performance in the classroom and on USMLE Licensing examinations, and has been highly successful achieving match rates that are in the top 1% nationwide in the National Residency Match Program.
