Assistant Professor of Pathology and Medical Education


Dr. Spartz earned a combined MD-PhD degree at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. She subsequently completed an anatomic and clinical pathology residency, and fellowship in cytopathology, also at Indiana University. She is certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and cytopathology.


Dr. Spartz is an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Director of Curriculum Mapping at CalMed. She previously held a split appointment at the Medical College of Georgia as an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Medical College of Georgia Educator Faculty. Her clinical focus was in anatomic pathology and cytopathology. She served as component director of pathology and served on several committees focusing on curriculum development. Dr. Spartz taught pathology, problem-based learning, and physical diagnosis. She has received awards for excellence in teaching in undergraduate and graduate medical education. She has also served as an academic advisor and as faculty advisor for the Student Organization for Homeless Healthcare Screening. Dr. Spartz is involved in multiple collaborative undergraduate medical education research projects.
