Biography

Dr. Alfred Tenore is Professor of Pediatrics and Medical Education, and Senior Associate Dean of Medical Education at CalMed. Over the last 40 years, he has held the following Academic and non-Academic positions:

Academic positions: Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA, U.S.A.; Associate Prof. of Pediatrics, University of Naples, School of Medicine, Naples, ITALY; Associate Prof. of Pediatrics, Vice Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics, Chief of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology; Director, Pediatric Residency Program, Louisiana State Univ., School of Med, New Orleans, LA, U.S.A. Professor of Pediatrics and Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics, and Associate Dean for Medical Education, University of Udine, School of Medicine, Udine, ITALY; Professor of Pediatrics, Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs & Assessment, California Northstate University, College of Medicine, Elk Grove, California, USA.

He has received several awards for teaching both in the United States and in Europe. Dr Tenore has been involved in the implementation of the "Global Pediatric Education Consortium (GPEC)" as the Founding Chair; of The European/International Intensive program in "Bioethics Applied to Clinical Practice" in its 20th yr; and of a nationwide "Progress Testing" in all 49 Italian Medical schools covering all academic years, which is currently in its 12th year

He has held editorial positions for the following journals: Italian Journal of Pediatric Surgical Sciences; Italian Journal of Pediatrics (Journal of the Italian Pediatric Society); Prospettive in Pediatria; Paediatriki (Journal of the Greek Paediatric Society); Italian Journal of Family Medicine; Archives of Disease of Children; Pediatrics in Review; as well as having been a reviewer for numerous journals among which: Archives of Internal Medicine.
