Academic Clinical Faculty Positions

The California University of Science and Medicine-School of Medicine (CUSM-SOM) in San Bernardino (temporary location) California is recruiting for full-time and part-time clinical teaching faculty in all core clinical disciplines (Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Surgery, ObGyn, Pediatrics, Psychiatry and Emergency Medicine) to join our inter-disciplinary Department of Medical Education. These positions offer the opportunity to participate in ongoing curricular development, education, assessment and advising of medical students in the pre-clerkship and clerkship years. There are also opportunities for development of leadership and administrative skills and for clinical practice. CUSM-SOM is a private, not-for-profit medical school that was recently granted preliminary accreditation by the LCME and plans to admit it’s inaugural class in the summer of 2018. The medical school has developed an integrated clinical-presentation driven curriculum utilizing flipped classrooms and active learning modalities. Our primary clinical partner is Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, a major, safety-net regional medical center serving San Bernardino County.

We are seeking faculty who enjoy working in a diverse, team-based environment with a primary commitment to teaching. Faculty are expected to make scholarly contributions to the field of medical education and be committed to servicing the Inland Empire region of Southern California. Minimum requirements for applicants include an MD or DO degree, eligibility for a California medical license, board certification in their specialty, and prior experience teaching medical students. Applicants should also be eligible for clinical privileges in their specialty at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience. Positions will remain open until filled.
